2007 INDIANA LIMESTONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM 

Public Open Houses at Bybee Stone

The Bloomington Area Arts Council is committed to enhancing the artistic experience of the community and invites the public to witness the beauty of limestone, Indiana’s natural resource. Come to the Limestone Symposium and watch as beginner and professional carvers bring limestone blocks to life with some tools and a little creativity! Families and friends can see the chips fly at Open Houses at the 11th Annual Indiana Limestone Sculpture Symposium sponsored by the Bloomington Area Arts Council and Bybee Stone Company.  Open Houses will take place at Bybee Stone Company in Ellettsville, IN. on the following dates and times:

·   Wednesday June 6th           10:00 am ---12:00 pm &  1:00 pm --- 3:00 pm

·   Friday June 8th                  10:00 am ---12:00 pm &  1:00 pm --- 3:00 pm

                          

Image Presentation at John Waldron Arts Center

Image presentation of current and past limestone sculpture projects by instructors and participants of the Symposium will take place at the John Waldron Arts Center in the Rose Firebay Theatre on the following dates:

·   Sunday, June 3, 7:30 p.m.

 

All events are free and open to the public.  No registration is required.


             


DIRECTIONS to the John Waldron Arts Center in Bloomington:  The JWAC is located at 122 S. Walnut Street, downtown Bloomington at the corner of 4th and Walnut.  Parking is available on the street and in the 4th Street Garage.

DIRECTIONS to Bybee Stone Company in Ellettsville:  Take HWY 46, 5 miles west to Ellettsville.  Turn north on Matthews Drive (one block from the light at Sales St.).  Follow Matthews Drive approximately 0.2 miles.  The symposium is located on the right.  Follow the signs for parking across the street in the gravel lot.
